Welcome to House Velahr

House Velahr has risen from the ashes of the Rallosian War, to challenge Norrath again for supremacy. Our rich history continues and our past is now linked with a new future for those who call Velahr their home.

With the blood of Velahr in his veins Aimor N'Velahr, the Blade and Nephew of Entaru N'Velahr rose to take upon the Will of Velahr and to deliver his People to their destiny. With the reformation of the Rhystall Council the House has again attained the ability to regain it's lost strength, but it continues to seek to rebuild it's Empire.

“Knowledge is power.”

Destiny of Velious

The twin Swords of Destiny, Soulfire and the Qeynos Claymore, have been drained of their powers, setting the stage for the destruction of all of the universe.

The prophecy known as Age's End begins to unfold in the legendary continent of Velious and it is here where the war for Norrath will arise. For there to be any chance to save Norrath, the Swords of Destiny must be restored. Norrath’s guardians who undertake this burden will be tested by labyrinthine dungeons, the harsh Velious tundra and powerful creatures including the God of War himself, Rallos Zek. To succeed would mean ultimate glory. To fail would mean annihilation.

Halas Reborn

The city of New Halas, namesake of the original city of the Northmen destroyed by cataclysm and war, sits in the heart of the isle of Erollis, a treacherous land of biting temperatures and aggressive fauna within the freezing waters of the Frostfang Sea. Originally a village of war hardened dwarves, it has since grown due to being blessed by Mithaniel Marr and reconnected with the Shattered Lands of Norrath. Pilgrims to New Halas can find their way there via a griffin at the docks in the Butcherblock Mountains.

Hardly a region of Norrath has been left unscathed since the Age of War and the Age of Cataclysms. The innumerable battles, the Rending, and the Shattering all took their toll, reshaping the land and the societies within them. The great Barbarian city of Halas was no exception! During the Age of War, Halas fell at the end of the long and bitter siege to the Rallosian horde. Many of the surviving northmen sought safety within the great walls of Qeynos, where they planned their revenge and the retaking of their city. Several years later, when the Rallosian army was defeated by a mysterious and deadly poison known as the Green Mist, they were certain that their prayers to Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr had been answered! The northmen returned to their ancestral home of Halas blessing their gods, but their happy homecoming was to be short lived as the Age of Cataclysms had begun! The great cataclysm that shattered the lands of Antonica spared none in its coming. Entire civilizations were nearly destroyed; cultures almost completely wiped from the face of Norrath in the wake of this horrible disaster. The barbarians of the frozen north were spared no more and no less than their neighbors, allies, and enemies alike. Halas, the city of the northmen was no more, having been rent asunder by the fiery balls of lunar rock that rained down upon the world. All that survived the initial strike of the cataclysm have since been consumed by the unleashed hunger of the north.

But recent events have begun to unfold that will ensure the return of the great city of Halas! Norrath learned that Erollisi Marr, The Goddess of Love, had died, sacrificing herself in order to save her brother, Mithaniel Marr, The God of Valor. Having encountered one too many defeats by the forces of hate and fear the Priests of Love, together with The Sisterhood of Erollisi and many adventurers across the continents, prayed to Mithaniel for a sign that hate is not more powerful than love. Their faith had been shaken and they were in desperate need of ethereal reassurance. Upon being confronted by adventurers and shown the error of his ways within the Shard of Love, Mithaniel returned to the Plane of Valor and found that the statue of Erollisi, which had been crafted by Varig Ro and presented to him as a gift shortly before her sacrifice, was a delight to him. Her effigy had not thrown him back under the dark clouds of mourning or self pity. Instead, it reminded him of what she stood for and what there was to continue to fight for. When he heard the cries and the prayers of the lovelorn upon Norrath, he knew what he was to do!

Mithaniel was aware that the city of Halas, the home city of the Barbarians, had been utterly destroyed during the Cataclysm and the Rending, and he felt it important to reestablish it. They were his and Erollisi's children, after all! And at the center of this New Halas he would plant his sister's statue to serve as a reminder and spiritual inspiration to all. When he set his eyes upon Norrath in search of a suitable place to establish this new city of light he found a landmass made of ice and velium floating within the Frostfang Sea, inhabited by blue-hued dwarves. He watched them as they struggled valiantly against an army of orcs living upon the surrounding islands of ice. He appreciated their dauntless stands and their warrior skills. The isle's environment was a perfect fit in which to establish the new city!

He approached the dwarves, who had masterfully carved out a few houses and buildings for themselves over the years. They were beside themselves with shock at his appearance! They knew who he was, and had no fear of him, but they feared what his appearance meant and what news he may bring. They had long worshipped Brell, their creator, and god of the Underfoot. Mithaniel reassured them that he had no ill news to deliver, but instead was offering to reconnect them with the Shattered Lands of Norrath, which would thus bring a great many able bodied individuals into their ranks. He went on to explain that if they agreed, then he would bless their iceberg home and place within it a statue of his dear sister, in no time it would become a city -New Halas. All he asked in return was that they would welcome any who sought refuge within their walls. They held a council and soon agreed. Neither they nor their creator, Brell, held a conflict with Mithaniel. In fact, if the ancient tales were to be believed, they had once even worked together to defeat some rather nasty creatures that had been released upon Norrath.

And so, Mithaniel fulfilled his promises, blessing the iceberg and planting the holy statue of Erollisi, crafted by Verig Ro, within the center of it. And the dwarves crafted more buildings in preparation for the influx of Norrathians who would soon inhabit their city of New Halas! The only thing left was reconnecting the isolated iceberg to the Shattered Lands. For this Mithaniel turned to his father, Tarew Marr, the Fathom Lord! It is unclear if Tarew himself blew the fated vessel off course, or if an item obtained from Tarew enabled Mithaniel to carry out the deed, but either way, a Farseas Trader vessel was blown from its intended course and within sight of the waiting shore of New Halas.

Mithaniel’s promise is sure to be fulfilled; their city will soon be bustling with a vast array of inhabitants, be they northman or pilgrim, looking to make New Halas their permanent residence and willing to take arms against the orc invaders.

Sentinel's Fate

The fabled lands of Odus..

Will of a Tyrant

Freeport has been rocked by the sudden destruction of Dethknell Citadel. What was once an ever-present reminder of The Overlord’s power and will floating above the city has collapsed, and the tenuous peace held within the city by the watchful and ruthless Overlord has been obliterated. Something has obviously befallen Lucan D'Lere, the Overlord of Freeport!

Gnomish Invention & The Return of Grobb

Gnomes have always been prone to curiosity, but they have never been of use. This changed when they were able to actually harness technology they unearthed in the Sands of Ro.

With this technology they also were able, by some means, to locate the landmass that consists of the remnants of Grobb, and the Isles of Ykesha. Now it is time to find the Glogs left behind in the swamps and reunite them with their brethren among Velahr.

The Legacy of House Velahr

I have lead this Household since the Shattering in my Uncle's stead so I am an accomplished Teir'dal Noble, but while my Uncle lives I am only the Houses caretaker and with the return of Kunark and directly the Draconic temples in the Skyfire Mountains I feel that his return continues to come closer. If the dragonkind do not have the key to his return I daresay I have a premonition that Velahr will have to return to the Plane of Tactics and our adversary the Warlord Zek.

We are currently investigating the Field of Bones, but unless we've overlooked something I cannot ascertain any direct information linking Velahr to the events in the area.

Return to Neriak

We have returned to Neriak, the Home of the Teir'dal. The Queen Christanos has been most "welcoming" to the powerful who have chosen to return to her city and has assigned some Arasai servants to our Household. We continue to test them out if you will, but have made no definitive choice as to how they will interact or serve the Household.

(We also attained Guild level 40. Congratulations to all those who contributed status to House Velahr! Special thanks to Syva, Valsehna, and Swede who carried us over the top.)

Playful Angles & Gnorby of Lyceum

Whenever Aimor is around. Things happen. That is the beauty of intrigue and the patience of the Teir'dal at work. As I am Aimor N'Velahr. I endorse this message and invite you to visit our Estate in South Freeport for similarily colorful appeal as presented below.

I will have to present more zone encompassing screenshot slides and will update the sidebars soon with some of the Kunark and TSO content. Check back weekly for new content as we ramp up our activity.

Call to Action

Gnorbyl and the Lyceum of Abhorrence

And so it Continues...

House Velahr is exactly two years old today, this 14th day of November, 2006. Or..in Norrath time, 42 years! (Burnday, 9th day of Lastleaf in the year 3763).

3756 - On Steelday, the 5th day of Deadening of the year 3756, House Velahr, having been established within the city for the past 35 years, receives recognition as having achieved the stature of 30 ranks of status with the City of Freeport (Thursday, July 27, 2006).

We now rapidly and with great effort on the part of our Brethren approach our 31st ranking.

War of the Prophet

The forces of Freeport gathered with some officially pledged to support Pallidmortis and some indirectly working with similar plans of destruction and war on their minds. House Velahr participated in that capacity, but ended up playing a larger part during the unfolding events then expected.

With the talons being formed in West Freeport under direction of the Knights of Freeport. Prominent groups such as Bloodthorn, the Discipleship, and House Velahr were present along with forces from the Throng, House Auvryl'Lyl, Coterie of Thorns, and various other organizations.

The command was given to march, avoiding Qeynos spies who had anticipated a long force march, the Armies of Freeport used the newly activated Ulitirian Spires to travel directly to Antonica, which the Qeynos forces had not expected. Once final preparations were made near a local espionage encampment the Armies of Freeport marched on the Gates of Qeynos.

Pallidmortis and Spindel, the opposition leader, met to discuss conditions, but it burst into taunting as Spindel refused the non-conditional surrender terms.

In order to launch attacks on the Southern City proper skirmishers entered the city directly to secure several key city districts with the two army vanguards squaring off. Qeynos summarily dispatched squads to defensive positions and small battles broke out. As some neighborhoods were breached the two armies fought openly in the streets as Qeynos withdrew to strengthen weakening squads within the city. Willow Wood, Castleview Hamlet, and Nettleville Hovel fell to Freeport forces and South Qeynos was breached.

The main forces of both armies met in South Qeynos where a standoff ensued. Combat along both lines continued as the defenders of Qeynos withdrew to protect the Prophet who had been secured in the Mage Tower. Unbeknowest to both sides the Prophet had committed suicide due to the guilt and madness that the knowledge they held was damning to Norraths fragile state.

After discussing between Pallidmortis and the assembled talons. Leithe of the Discipleship along with planted Velahr troops, including Arch-Mage Scypha N'Velahr of the Ahk'Vanarn, entered the tower veiled in both stealth and invisibility. Near the top they discovered the dead prophet and notes pertaining to clues about the prophecy. Leithe was spotted leaving the tower, but was able to give Scypha a fake document and distract the pursuers before gaining their escape from the tower. Once Leithe had secured the prophecy notes and informed Pallidmortis. The order to withdraw from the city was ordered as the forces of Qeynos were beginning to overwhelm the floundering Freeport lines.

Leithe and others fled through Splitpaws tunnels back to Freeport while others used more conventional means or the spires as they had came.

Once returned to Freeport forces reassembled in West Freeport, congradulatory cheers and greetings were exchanged, while Velahr met with Pallidmortis and some assembled Knights to inform them of the Discipleship and House Velahr's success in entering the Mage Tower and attaining the prophecy notes. Communication had been poor as Qeynos forces cut off communication and until that point Pallidmortis had no confirmation as to the validity of gaining the prophecy notes. Leithe and Azaelia arrived later to reaffirm the account of events and handed over the notes into the trust of the Knights of Freeport.

Freeport claimed victory in attaining the prophecy notes, but it was not a complete victory in everyones eyes as the overall destruction and demoralizing defeat of the Qeynosian Army did not occur. Casulties were significant on both sides, but without espionage employed by indirect contributors. It is unlikely that the forces of Qeynos would have been breached and broken.

Retailitory strikes have already begun. Spindel and Vagabond Knights, primary by the name of Brosha, and Xannis were apprehended in the Crossroads for acts of poison, murder, and Spindel was present as a co-conspirator. Aimor and Zhara arrested both Spindel and Brosha, but Xannis avoided capture. They were summarily handed over to Pallidmortis and Sianya of the Knights of Freeport to be escorted to the milita house, but Pallidmortis stated a lack of evidence and used the opportunity to barter for Xannis compliance in turning himself in for murder rather then have Brosha and Spindel face the crimes. A tribunal or conclusion of the murder is not yet resolved.

Submit and be Strong!

A courier arrived in East Freeport. With dark hued skin, purple eyes, and flowing white hair peaking from his helm he is obviously a Teir'dal. He is lightly armored in chain and leather armor. His cloak is set to the left and a row of daggers is visible in a thigh sheath. He sports a red insignia that bears a black drake rearing up, claws outwards, and it's mouth open in a roar. He stamps a long scroll upon one of the various message boards and continues to the North. Another pair of couriers, one dressed in knight regalia, and another similar to the first join him. Onlookers crowd around the board to read it. It states in common:

Brethren and to those who bear allegience to the Teir'dal,

After the shattering a new freedom was born into the hearts of Teir'dal who were freed from the constrictions, laws, and bidding of Neriak and our Father Innoruuk. Each took it upon themselves to forge a clan, a squad, or a minor organization, but the time to return to those who are most effective at leading our People is at hand.

I know that many have attempted to forge a future for themselves, some have been successful to varying degrees, but so many lack the true qualities and cohesion to attain that which we all desire. The talent and skill of our People is being squandered in these Organizations. There are those of us who have championed communication among one another and to some we have gained success, but together as a single entity we could achieve the status we deserve as Freeport and Norraths' Elite!

Everyone seeks their "Own" place with the absence of Innoruuk. Longtime allies such as the Ogres, Trolls, have almost completly abandoned their old allegiences to the Teir'dal. This is because our Peoples vision has become so frayed that we only latch onto lost and frayed pieces of our history. We must grasp our destiny and forge an empire worthy of our People. In order to do so others must realize that their goals as small groups can be met in the grander scheme of our entire race.

Those of you who are scattered or insulated from the stronger groups of your People must return. You will inevitably fail and potentially so will we and our race will be diminished. I ask that all of you Teir'dal who know this to be true look within. A handful of you cannot succeed, lend your skill to others, reforge bonds that have been broken, and make us all stronger and more able to accomplish the greater goals of our ancestry.

Submit and be strong!
For the glory of the Teir'dal!

By my hand,
-Aimor N'Velahr
Blade and Lord of House Velahr.

Excavation and Reconnaisance

Velahr has a long history of conquest and empire building. The shattering similarily effected our holdings significantly as it did all of Norrath and we are actively seeking sites that served as Velahr safeareas, outposts, and military regions. More information and rewards for those Velahr successfully locating such caches through the provided journals, maps, and information gathered from pre-shattering maps are detailed within the Household proper.

Also scouts continue to bring back reports of Velahr engagements and some misplaced couriers were recently recovered in more hostile areas along with their packages. These have been left in the gallery for review. (Deathfist Citadel, Living Tombs, Nagafen's Domain, and Pheyd Frostfell all recieved updates or were reposted. Servers..)

Scouts in the Halls Return!

Our scouts have returned with images and reports of various incidents in recent past including more information regarding Velahr activities in Lavastorm, Rivervale, the Pillars of Flame, Freeport, and Deathfist Citadel.

You can also find notes of our celebration as mentioned below. You can find these and earlier reports of Velahr activities in the Gallery.

In Defiance of the Overlord!

On November 15th, 2005. 22 years(A year and a day) after House Velahr established it's base of operations in Freeport after the Shattering and the Battle of Defiance the House has achieved one of the most significant honors in Freeport by reaching Level 25.

It is Velahr's continued goal to maintain a bastion of Teir'dal society in the Freeport as we forge a new empire in this new age. We take great pleasure in knowing that the Overlord is angered by the contracts, organizations, and treaties we've managed to barter or intimidate as to admit us into the upper echelons of this city.

Velahr remains confident other cells of the House remain operational in old strongholds throughout Norrath and until such time as we reach them the Rhystall Council will operate out of Freeport and the noble blood of this House will remain strong and motivated in Hatred towards our enemies and those who oppose the Will of our People.

Life Risking Results!

Veldalharil has been promoted to the rank of Mistress of Blades and is lieutenent to Warlord Magmar within the Ahk'Kerym. Arsenyk has been appointed to a similar position among the Ek'Jana under Cyriex awaiting approval and completion of a present training mission.

New reports and images have sufaced as to Velahr activities as well. (You can find them in the gallery. There is a new Permafrost, Solusek's Eye, and additional shots added to the Cazic Thule series. Enjoy!)

Velahr Introduction Video

Welcome and Greetings to the Halls of House Velahr. While much has been lost in the Shattering all magic has yet failed. If you step inside the room on the left the Ahk'Vanarn has created a capture of events, but be aware that occasionally they have caused magic in the viewers.

Public Library

Velahr scribes have been hard at work making the appropriete number of copies of certain Teir'dal and associated text available for review by the curious and scholarly within Freeport.

In response to these works we have opened a small scribe shop in West Freeport near the bloodhaze inn operated by Lady Scypha. In conjunction with her magical scribing she carries tomes containing information about Velahr society, culture, and history as well as accounts of events as viewed or attained over the years by the Household.

A small fee is expected, but not demanded for use of these works. If you wish to purchase such tomes you may inquire with Scypha.

Sands and the Sea

The last great battle Velahr fought was upon the sands of Ro against the Armies of Rallos Zek. Since the Shattering those lands have been lost and long distant in many of our memories, but ships bearing the flag of the Bloodforge Mercenaries under the employment of Velahr have heard rumors from pirates and have returned with sightings of pirate vessals unknown to us in Freeport.

It is with this information and nautical charting that we believe the Deserts of Ro still exist or have risen from the sea. We will continue to investigate with greater funding these so called rumors for concrete knowledge of these pirates in the seas.

If this is true. Parts or other cells of House Velahr may be located and rejoined with us to bolster the ranks and return us to greater glory.

Out Lurking

After attaining a dignified rank through political bribes and espionage House Velahr has been recognized in Freeport as a powerful House deserving the respect of the established rulership. We feel this is more in line with Overlord Lucan wishing to bend a knee to keep us from attempting to usurp his stranglehold on various organizations in Freeport, but we have greater goals in mind then the puny port city. We will take what discounts the humans will offer though. (Guild level 20.)

Velahr has made available via the Gallery numerous occasions and investigation that remains ongoing throughout the realm of Norrath. As I grow accustomed to this and as art is completed the look and feel of the Houses interior will continue to change and evolve. I am sure you will all be awed as it grows.

Website Updates

I've updated the sidebar to only show the currently used areas of the Website. You will also note that there is a new Gallery entitled "Ruins of Varsoon".

Also congratulations to Valsehna for completing Stilletto's orders as did Caldor and Aimor. Cyriex also completed these boots were made for..and Wofgen for completing the flowing black silk sash.

Congratulations House Velahr. We reached 20th level as a guild. My thanks goes out to our 15 patrons who have done an outstanding job.

For the Glory of Velahr!

House Velahr had numerous achievements to be proud of within the week ending on Feastday the 21st day of Oceansfull, 3731.

~ After considerable effort, House Velahr has received official recognition and advanced its status with Freeport and the favor of the Overlord a total of 19 times.

~ Xictus and Aimor had, sometime hence, come into the aquaintence of a certain Scholar Al'Quylar in Antonica and had agreed to compleing a series of numerous tasks, both tedious and deadly for the fellow, including searching out and even destroying certain tomes and books related to Binding, Immortality, and even Life and Death itself. One of the deadlier tasks was the annihilation of Varsoon the Undying within his Chamber of Immortality deep within the Ruins of Varsoon. Upon completion of this final bit of violence, they returned to speak with this Scholar, who taking on a sudden fit of rage, attacked the pair of adventurer's and their party. He was rather quickly put under permanent restraint of the deadly variety, and from his remains, both of the two recovered a rather Strange Black Rock, in the form of a Glowing Black Stone. It proved to be strung in such a way as to be wearable around the neck, and was infused with the life force of Pyzin, once thought to be the Heart of Varsoon. Numerous powerful magical properties eminated from within its depths, bestowing significant benefits upon the wearers.

~ The Overlord was pleased enough with the accomplishment of the Blade and the Warlock that he accorded to House Velahr, even further status and recognition in Freeport.

~ The Blade was also quite pleased, and re-established The Warlock Xictus as a Patron of House Velahr.

~ Dirae was voted the winner of our first Story Contest, with 42 percent of the votes in her favor for her tale entitled "Exile". The other finalists included Inkantra for her "Profile" story, Arsenyk with her tale of "Coming of Age", Magmar and his story of "Rebirth", and Scypha for her profile story.

~ Mintai completed the mastery of the forty-third chapter in the Shadowknight Book of Knowledge. Her training has been validated 43 times.

~ Valsehna completed the mastery of the thirty-ninth chapter in the Book of Inquisitors Knowledge. Her devotional training has gained her divine blessings 39 times. Through her arudous attention to her work within the quiet of the Heralds of K'Lorn, she has now mastered all forty-nine volumes of the art of jewelcrafting. She can now imbue every type of precious gemstone ring with magical properties. The City of Freeport and the Coalition of Trade were pleased with her completion of several entirely tedious writs, rewarding her with several handsfull of gold coins. She was noted to have caught out of the corner of her eye what appeared to be a slight nod of approval in her direction from the Blade.

~ Cyriex completed the mastery of the twenty-ninth chapter in the Assassin's Book of Secret Knowledge. Training in his deadly skills has been successful 43 times.

Caldor, while exploring within Windstalker Village in Antonica, had come upon and read a quite interesting volume entitled "The Case of the Windstalker Rumbler".

The content of the text was compelling enough to cause Caldor to seek out The Windstalker Rumbler, who was lurking deep within the gnoll tunnels. Upon encountering the creature, it fell to Caldor's heroic might.

His efforts rewarded him with receiving a magical Encrusted Orb.

~ Numerous other among our Brethren also advanced their studies significantly within their respective Books of Knowledge, including Lord Blade Aimor, Chief Wofgen Glog, and Inquisitor's Caldor, Myrcia and Dirae.

The Invisible Hand

Economy is something vital to any empire. It is the invisible hand that quietly guides the fortune of mankind. Our forefathers learned this important fact centuries ago. The strong survive, the wealthy flourish. Control of Freeport remains in the hands of the wealthy, the powerful. The only way to rest it from the entrenched Lord, Sir Lucan D'lere is to take it and outbid him or overpower him.

Who among Freeport is willing to do it? Will the lesser Houses crumble, unite, or strive for something or can the Teir'Dal truly forge an empire that Neriak failed to become. There must be inspiration for our People. Neriak holds secrets to be uncovered and it warrants investigation. Yet, Neriak fell, even if it still exists. It's glory is not unblemished. A pure empire forged in hardship, founded in chaos, and lead with effeciency is for the new breed of Teir'Dal. Those tested in hardship.

Acknowledgement

It is not common practice of House Velahr to make mention of typical honors, but congratulations to those who have unlocked their chosen professions and sub-classes as well as those who have become true Artisans. A special notice goes to Rothorn and Xictus who became Officers within the House. Special titles will be forthcoming as the House continues to pull itself together again after the Rending and its heavy losses. As mentioned the strong and most powerful of the new age are rising to the call through cunning, wit, intelligence, or sheer brawn. Unto the glory of the Black Drake!

Raising the Banner

The House has reached Guild Level 5!

Now that we have reached Guild level 5 access to Status and Faction merchants has been increased, a guild quest opened, and most importantly our banner will be worn by all members. The Black Drake insignia should be shown proudly in Freeport and surrounding areas at all time unless on missions of import when secrecy is warrented.

Also of minor note the House has progressed to Guild Level 6! Granting further prestige writs to be filled by the House residents for the city of Freeport.

City Registration and Recognition

Having paid the fees to the city of Freeport the denizens of House Velahr who are currently calling said city their Home were officially recognized by Lucan D'lere, the reigning Overlord of the city.

At 9pm on Saturday. November 13th. House Velahr became an entity within Everquest 2! Founding members included Aimor, Valsehna, Wofgen, Scypha, Uvyll, Tiktok, and Julae.

Since then many old faces and new have joined us. We welcome them and you to House Velahr. May your journey be periless for we are always lurking.
