House Velahr - Founding

On the day of Zhaz'Ruk, Innoruuk, Our Father, in his utter hatred of us, cast us away from our ancestral homeland, the ancient dynastic empire of Duk Gaaroth. Over time, after having to deal with the harshest of climates, devastation, starvation, depravations and near extinction, we have become perfect in Our Hatred of Our Father and his treatment of us. Over time, he deemed us worthy of his dark gifts, thus he sent his Grand Taskmaster, Ugoth Javic'ra, to announce that we are indeed the true heirs to Our Father. On this day we were given a crimson and black bound tome, which was to govern and set the course for the future of our House. It would later be known as "The Way".

Innoruuk, knowing the weakness of mortals to think for themselves included a set of laws that would be followed by the House itself and its Unholy Guardians. These are often only revealed as the House progresses and "The Way" is currently incomplete, but each year or decade more pages are revealed.

During the many years of struggle after the Casting Out, these three of the Velahr children of the several surviving Nobles of House Velahr, Entaru, Mashaad and Tselra stumbled upon and managed to eek out an existence in what is now known as the Swamps of Innothule in the region of the primitive Troll culture, while other survivors, including Tizrifei remained disconnected, lost or at large for some time. When darkness filtered in many creatures of death and undeath walking the bogs, sheltering within its harsh, murky climes was treacherous. In the daylight, fog and heat assaulted them, but they had little else to go to. Thus, Entaru's Art began to expand. Using his powers of necromancy he could sustain them for many months without food, a semi-undead state and it indeed did draw upon the very essence of life within the swamps and thus they survived, even thrived for the time they spent there.

While lurching through the swamps, the three stumbled upon some ruins, since they were not natives of Norrath it took them time to decipher the ruins markings, but after some time it appeared they belonged to powerful lizards who subjugated the trolls in the region thousands of years ago. They also found the markings of Cazic-Thule, the Lizard King and Rallos Zek, the God of War, both interesting, but even here, Innoruuk was the mightest among the Lizard's deities.

After being attuned to the ruins over several decades, Tselra's magic began to alter the surroundings, changing the grounds into stone gradually as the ruins began to take the shape of our ancestral Household. Entaru aided her with the minions he had raised from the swamps, victims of its harsh climes he imagined. Mashaad was the only one absent, for long periods he'd disappear into the chambers deep within the bowels of the complex, assuming a mediative state and began to recieve visions of extreme power. This insight would lead him to Innoruuk's Will.

Over the course of time it was learned that other Teir'Dal existed on what they called Norrath as Entaru would communicate with the undead and Tselra had learned several scrying skills to assist in the task of reaching out to others, but before they made further plans their Household would need to be protected.

Lacking the numbers of their Household in the past, since only these three had managed to cling together following Zhaz'Ruk, they decided to draw their Household into the planes, protected from outside assaults. Thus on the night of the blood moon, the zenith of Innoruuk's divine powers, that occurs once a millenia, the three began their work. They had spent months in preparation, further shaping the complex into their desired interpretation. Now, all was set in place.

Sitting upon the top of the complex, which would also become known as Duk Gaaroth as it was before, they amassed their strength, focusing on opening a breach within the planes, a tear in the very fabric of the world. Nightmares came at them, horrors unknown to the people of Norrath, trying to break their concentration, but they would be undaunted. Slowly their stronghold was drawn into the void intact, breaking away from the confines of Norrath's place in the realms and it was thus that it was drawn into the plane of Chaos, a realm between the planes of Hate and Fear, where even the strongest of heroes did not venture, but these of three of the surviving nobles had been successful. As they passed their minions began to erect the portal that would serve as the door to their now protected home. The home of House Velahr.

Their work complete, Tselra set about further changing and shaping Duk Gaaroth while the Twin Brothers, Mashaad and Entaru, thus set out for Neriak, to find those of true Teir'Dal blood. After many days of travel and through the desert climes they reached the haunting forests of Nektulos, but what they saw was a race not fit to be Teir'Dal, the Dark Elves of Neriak had grown comfortable under the protection of their King and Queen and the royal Dragoons that patrolled the region. The Twins then vowed that the peacefulness and the pitiful existence of such elves would not be tolerated and they would witness an "Awakening".

Over the years that followed, the younger twin, Mashaad and Tselra his sister became Consorts and bore numerous children among them a set of twins--Seninye and her sister. Entaru meanwhile had continued his studies of Necromancy within the Lodge of the Dead located in Neriak, although he despised the so called Teir'Dal there he labored through the 20 seasons required to attain the knowledge required of his Art to begin research on his own. He learned many things upon his stay within Neriak, but most importantly he grew a great hatred for the Gnomes, Erudites and Humans who had stolen the magic of his people and he vowed to unleash its true powers upon them and thus reclaim that which was rightfully our peoples.

The years continued to pass and the Household began to grow, when those of Teir'Dal blood were found, the Way was revealed to them and they entered Duk Gaaroth to learn more of their true heritage. Teir'Dal were created perfect, in the image that Innoruuk saw fit as the most beautiful of his children, the other elves were only the waste of what remained, flawed in their creation, but adopted by Tunare out of her pity for them and thus the hatred stemmed over generations of hatred, that of the pale elves fueling our power, but the mutants multiplied quickly, but the Teir'Dal abided their time, as we did.

Among the other servants to the Dark Lords of Norrath, two clans destined to serve, but who would make a nitch in their own rights were oddly a clan of trolls, the Glog's led at the time by Goskuth Glog, a female shaman and the Tubagu's, a clan of Ogres pledged themselves to the call of House Velahr at the ruins of their past home within the swamps of Innothule and were welcomed unto the planes that Duk Gaaroth lies to grow and flourish.

Thus it is time to reveal who we are..We are House Velahr, tremble before our wave of Hate.
