House Velahr - Law

Innoruuk, knowing the weaknesses of mortals to think for themselves sent "The Way" with his Grand Taskmaster, Ugoth Javic'ra. The Way included a set of laws that would be followed by the House itself and its Unholy Guardians, but it had special significance to the Velektrah in particular.

The Way is only rarely flexible, but to see this need an adjudicator was established to consider exceptions on their merit when one feels they need to be changed in manner. The adjudicator is often the House Elder or the members of the Rystall Council. If The Way has been broken in any way punishment is often death.

The Way is complex, but some of its basic foundations are as follows. Members of House Velahr may lie, steal, or commit murder, but ONLY if it advances the goals of the House itself and Innoruuk's Hate is spread. These acts are NOT for personal gain or because of lose of self-control. Thus the acts of rape, pillaging and plunder are adverse to The Way and are prohibited, these laws and codes shall be enacted once House Velahr has established a world of Order, free of chaos and strife.

The interpreters of The Way, the Dothoril have labored for many years to inscribe The Way in full, but Innoruuk chose to only reveal parts to us as we fulfilled his will and thus it is unfinished. As this inscription describes the ignorance and unwillingness of Teir'Dal in the past to unite into one glorious force of hatred has lead to the failures of many, but we shall not fail Our Fathers calling.

During rare cases when some foolish Teir'Dal breaks these codes they are sent to the triumvirate, the council of three sent by Innoruuk. These three are nameless Taskmasters and speak with the divine wisdom of Innoruuk himself. Crimes against the House and against Our Father are as follows:

Treason

This is perhaps the worst possible crime one can commit by doctrine of "The Way". Those found guilty of treason are exiled from the House and shall be shunned, as if they did not exist. All relatives of said member will be exiled along with them and their family, if they have one will be wiped from memory.

Illegal Accusation of Goods

Another crime against the House is that of the illegal discovery of goods when they have not been earned, commonly called twinking. The Taskmasters may deign to give only a light warning, a severe warning which also carries punishment or banishment.

Defilement & Profanity

House members cheapening themselves to the point of using profanity or slanderous speech either towards the House or others will be given a light warning, a severe warning which carries heavy punishments and/or banishment from the House. Such acts are for those of low intelligence and ignorance such as those of human descent. A Teir'Dal should never have to lower themselves to such animalistic vulgarity.

Murderous Acts

Unless verified by the Council and for the betterment of the entire Household murderous acts against others, be they fellow House members or enemies are prohibited. Selfish and individual betterment is frowned upon, but Innoruuk often shows relent in such cases. Members are still subject to harsh punishments and banishment, if caught.

Declaration of Warfare

Open Warfare is rare since other methods usually are much more effective, but in certain instances open warfare is necessary. The Way describes harsh justice for those who fail, slay any and all enemies, leaving none to speak of your deeds as if it had not happened. When people know of such acts often it is not complete victory, Innoruuk does not accept failure, nor do we.

Intrusion & Security

Intrusion laws are those of meddling in the affairs of others, enemies within the House, foreign or otherwise as well as espionage and other types of acts of infiltration by others. These are to be delt with by death, no such intruders are to survive with any information gained from such unlawful entrance into the Halls of House Velahr nor scrying attempts by clerics of other faiths to interrupt the voice of Innoruuk.

Member responsibilities

Members are all under the acknowledgement that our members are always correct, if found to be otherwise the Taskmasters shall deal with such infidels with severe punishment, banishment or utter destruction.

Each member is responsible for the welfare of the Council and Nobles of House Velahr, sacrificing their lives for the Will of Innoruuk if need be to prevent the lose of such important figureheads.

Allegiance to other Houses or Guilds is forbidden. This is punishable under the treason laws under doctrine of The Way.

The stability of the House as a whole comes before all personal advancement, failure to follow such codes are punishable under the defilement laws.

Each member must tithe the required funds monthly to the House Vault. Such failure is punishable under the security laws since you weaken the House by not completing such duties.

No member is allowed to question the choices of a Council member or Noble. Such acts are punishable under the treason laws.

Member Rights

Quite simply the members of House Velahr follow the Will of Innoruuk and that is deigned by the written word of The Way. Adherence to such rules is not asked, but simply understood. You have the rights given by Innoruuk and that is enough, questioning such is punishable under the treason laws.

The final words of The Way's teachings was this inscriptions, near the back of the book that would help lead us to complete victory. It reads as follows...
